Default Dyno safe or not?

I'm thinking about having the car dynoed , what brand is safe orare theyall ok? Does the shop have the dyno calibrated or do they need adjustment for a true reading? Thanks.

Most chassis dyno's in performance shops are either Dynojet or Mustang. For whatever reason the Mustang usually dynos lower.

I would assume they require a regular maintanence schedule as any other piece of machinery.

You take your car to reputable shop you should be fine. The only calibration they can change for that day is for weather conditions.

Most dynos are 100% safe, provided the operators are competant. I've never personally seen any dyno-related accidents. I HAVE seen car failures on the dyno- usually driveshafts. I've never seen a C5 have any problems on a dyno, especially near-stock cars.
