Hey, guys. I just installed a TB from WCC and also put a TB by-pass kit on at the same time. When I start my car from a cold start (first thing in the morning or at the end of work 8hrs) it reves up to about 3000 rpm's before idling out to 1000. Does anyone have any ideas how to keep the TB from sticking or just not to get it to rev up?
This should go away afer a few restarts.
But, you may also try doing the Idle Relearn process if you haven't already. I think there is a link in the tech tips section for the procedure.
You may also have a small air leak at the throttle body. Either at the duct or at the TB gasket. Did you use a new gasket when you installed the new TB?
I have the same equipment and situation. Had both for about a year and even after tuning.
I don't think the TB by-pass has anything to do with it. Nor do I think the throttle body is "sticking".
If you have an enlarged TB combined with other increased air flow options (I've got after market air filter, air duct, MFS and a Z06 intake manifold), you computer may sense so much air going in to the engine it compensates with gas to offset the lean reading.
Mine revs higher in colder weather than hot, too. And it doesn't do it at all on subsequent start ups. It only does it on the first start of the day or after the car has been sitting for some time.
It hasn't seemed to hurt anything, and it has become shorter in duration over time.
