it opened for me on the way to gainsville to get gas but when i got here and needed to fill up it wouldnt open. so i took the dash apart and checked the wire and it looked fine, i also unpluged it and pluged it back in and it was fine but the lid still wont open. so to get it open i took a flat head and put it under the lid and poped it open. I dont know what to do........
Open the hatch, look left (where the filler neck is) you will see a steel cable. Pull the cable and the gas cover will open. I would check the fuses and see if any are burned out. Bob
If your fuel filler door release won’t operate, there is a
manual release tab. The tab is located against the upper
trim on the driver’s side in the rear compartment.
Check the owner's manual to see where the manual release is. I'm not sure if the Z06 is different, but the coupe has the manual release.
If you open the trunk of your car and look along the driver's side of the trunk towards the back seat, and possibly up under the lip of the trunk fender, there should be a steel cable with a small handle. It's probably not visible unless you lean into the trunk and fish around.
The release cable is on top of the fenderwell on the left side, if you open the trunk you'll see the left rear fenderwell, look and feel around this area, if you still don't have any luck pull the carpet back, it's there
