rear coolant plugged in 2001+

Does anybody knows if 2001 + LS1 engine block is different from 1999.
Is it safe to block the rear coolant vent hole of the engine like 2001+ .

I know at one point the LS1 block was replaced with the LS6 block, but can't say for sure what year that was, but I think 2001.

Apparently yes it is. I just did an LS6 intake swap but I did not block the rear vent holes, I fall into the "more must be better" group.

I have to block the rear coolant hole when I install a magnuson SC on it. If the engine block is different maybe I am not getting enough cooling at the rear .
How did you route the rear vent hole whe you change to ls6 cover, will it work in my case?
