Need Help with Z06 Custom Harness Bar install
I have a custom made aluminum harness bar that I want to bolt into the stock shoulder harness location. My design is based on replacing the stock bolts but I could not match the size. 12mm only installs 4 rotations deep. 1/2 inch is to large. The stock bolts (about 7 rotations) have a tight fit themselves. Are they some non-standard bolt ?? (like brake bolts that are not round and one time use?)
Designs that use the stock bolt generally have a "loose" fit such that support bars must be connected between the harness bar and the seat rear mounting point point on each side of the bar. (like r-dracing.com)
My design requires the bar end tabs to be tightly bolted into the shoulder location. The space between the bar end tabs and the shoulder mounting point will be taken up by a collar.
I want to enter a track event at Blackhawk farms racetrack this weekend.
I did a bit of searching on the forum but did not find any info.
Any help would be greatly appreciated !!!
