I just picked up a 99 and I am wondering what seems to be the consenses on mod's that really give you the bang for the buck. I have a 94 also, that I went all out on with converting it to a 11 second 383 stroker, but from all the magazines it seems to me you don't have to dump as much into the LS1 to get down into the lower 12 or higher 11. Is this srictly bolt-ons or is the bottom end needing work?? I don't want to go NOS, so far I have a complete borla dual tip stinger system and some type of aftermarket short header set, assuming a borla header.
Depends on how much your budget is. If you want to stay NA then your looking at head,cam,exhaust package. And, BTW, it does not hurt to beef up the bottom end either when you go that route. Good luck which ever way you decide to go.
Is AFR LS1 heads the way to go, and what seems to be the best cam for the ls1? I drive it frequently, so I don't want a massive CAM, but rather a healthy one. I would prefer a cam up to similar fashion as TPIS ZZ-X cam which is in my C4. It sounds awsome and is still drivable.
