If you need help, let me know, I'm just over in Brentwood.

Actually, if you have a 2003 like your profile says, you should have the wires hanging and ready as described here:

If you're not using the remote and just need power for the V1 unit itself, you can wire it to the mirror. See this thread:

I did this mod last night on my 2004 and it worked perfectly. A couple of cautions, though. First, you really do have to solder the wires from to phone cable to the pins on the wiring harness. The phone wires are very thin (probably around 24 gauge), and they won't be large enough to work with any of the splicing tap-ons.

Getting the pins out of the connector is relatively easy. I just pushed on them from the bottom with a small sharp awl and they backed out with just a tug on the wires.

Once the pins are out, though, they are quite delicate. You'll need very little solder to attach the phone wire. If you get too much, the solder will run all over the pin and make it difficult to push back through the connector. Also, if you overheat the pin with the soldering iron, you can easily weaken it enough to break it. Don't ask me how I know this.

The other difficulty is where you have to work. I'm pretty good with a soldering iron if my work is on a bench with plenty of light, but you'll be soldering a connection dangling in mid-air by your mirror. It's easier if you have someone to hold the harness while you solder (although I can't recommend my 13-year old daughter).

Once you get the soldering done, just push (gently) the pins back into the connector. Pay close attention to make sure you get the wires back in their original holes, or your auto-dimming mirror won't dim. No, you can't ask me how I know this, either.

It's really not a difficult task if you take your time and pay attention.

The accessory wires in the fuse box is the easiest way. Took me a whole 10 mins to do the whole hardwire install start to finish. You want the yellow and black wires.

There is a connector with a three wire harness located above the BCM in the right footwell. Yellow is the switched power and black is ground.

The accessory connector was discontinued after 2003....the '04s don't have it.

True, but his profile says he has a 2003. That's why I posted both directions.

I just got a 2004 and was wondering the same thing.
I could not follow the link on the instructions for the 2004 for wiring to the passenger side fuse box
I plan to use the suction cups near the mirror.
Appreciate any help. Thanks.
