Just upgraded to 04 Z06 shocks, and I did use a set of 4 15ohm, 5 watt resistors to plug into the connectors. I did not touch the ride control selector on the console either.
I am still getting the DIC warnings - any ideas? do the resistors ever burn out even if the switch is left on performance?
Also, I didnt get the warning till after about 30 minutes of driving... maybe one came loose but I doubt it
Re: F45 error messages even after using resistors (Drako)
I don't think that something came loose--that can happen a while later after you are already driving. You may have to unplug one or two plugs on the driver's side at the back of the car on the inside part of the backend--I would think that if you are fooling the car to think it is still F45, you shouldn't have to but my car would not let a Tech II turn off F45 until we unplugged the two plugs in the back... (They're behind a panel in along the back wall of the hatchback on the driver's side.)

Re: F45 error messages even after using resistors (Drako)
I had to start/stop the engine about 10 times before the DIC's stopped coming up.
Have you start/stopped that much since you put them on?
If you didn't tie wrap the resistors, definitely check and see if one broke loose!

Re: F45 error messages even after using resistors (Drako)
I haven't had any problems with mine after a couple hundered miles. I did use 10 Watt resistors. I don't know what the signal to the shock looks like, but if the shocks ever get 12 volts to them, that works out to 9.6 Watts.
For what it's worth, mine is set in the performance mode.

Thanks guys.... car has been restarted perhaps 6 times and am still getting the messages. I can't even clear the "Service Ride Control" message from the DIC...
I used zipties to secure the resistors to the connectors. I might try going over them again today. Maybe I need to upgrade them to 10W resistors. I say this beacuse the codes didnt show up until after about 30 minutes of driving time, so maybe 5W just isnt enough?
Re: F45 error messages even after using resistors (Drako)
I still have error messages on my '93 Cadillac Seville after thousands of miles with the resistors. I just accept it. I understand though, that there is some type of fix for this involving a little wiring and a relay. Check out the archives of Caddyinfo.com if you care to investigate.
Re: F45 error messages even after using resistors (Drako)
I have had the same problem. 5 watts is not enough in my experience (and from what I read here). I changed all of mine to 10 watts, and haven't had any more problems. Also, any moisture can easily throw an error as well.
I will be getting my hands on a Tech II soon to try to turn that function off in the BCM.
