Default Tips for rotor / pad switchup?

Well, I've got my parts and planning on spending the weekend on the car. I've got service manuals, etc but was just wondering it there's anything to watch out for with switching out the front rotors and pads? Also putting in a 160 Hypertech....any tricks there? Thanks.

If you don't already have one, get yourself an 18" breaker bar. You'll need it for getting the caliper bracket bolts off unless you have an impact wrench. A rubber mallet also helps to break loose the loctite on the bolts.

Your going to need a torque wrench with enough capacity for 125 ftlbs. It really helps to turn the wheels to get a better angle on those caliper bracket bolts.

Thermostat replacement drain the radiator before you take the old one off. Less of a mess.

A lot of people try unbolting the caliper bolts only to find that they turn freely....and if that happens to you, just get an open end wrench (18mm??) and use it to hold the piece that looks like a really thick washer. If you inspect the system closely, you'll notice this washer isn't completely round, but flattened on two sides.

Have fun!
