every now and then i go to use my turn signal and it wont work at all. i then turn on my hazards and then they start working again. anyone have any idea what the problem could be??? i have no codes and didnt notice any bulbs blown out
Re: turn signals sometimes wont work...help (robsvette)
I have had this happen a couple of times. What I found out was that the small metal contacts in the turn signal socket were not making consistent contact with the contacts on the bulb. Therefore, bumps or ruff road, etc., would cause the blinker to stop working at random. Very frustrating...... So, I took a small flat tipped screw driver and sprung the metal contacts in the socket out-ward and re-installed the blub. I haven't had a problem since doing this, about 4 months ago.
I recommend you try this fix first. It is allot cheaper and easier than dealing with the hazard flasher.

When mine was a week old the right front turn signal stopped working. Did it for one day then okay. Been okay for 5 months now, never did find out why it did it.

Your turn signals run through the hazard flasher switch. One member sprayed contact cleaner in the hazard switch and said it has cured his turn signal problem for now. I took mine to the dealer and they replaced the hazard switch. $38.00 part and $228.00 labor. I have an extended warranty so it only cost me $100.00. Good Luck

It's the hazzard switch when both left and right turn signals act up and then my hazzard lights wouldn't even come on after it got a worse.
I just pulled mine out yesterday. I followed the instructions the one guy had which allowed you to do it without taking the dash out. It worked great and I'm not an expert either. I Just do all the normal easier maintenance.
4 nuts for the console. pull it back a few inches.
3 screw for the trim piece around the radio. Pull the radio. Pull the hazzard button off the front. Small screwdriver to push the bottom tab on the hazzard switch and then take a hammer and a blunt chisel and hold it on the right front side of the hazzard switch and give it a medium smack. Mine popped right out. I didn't even have to pull my Knee panel to get it out.. Hopefully the new one goes in just that easy.
Thanks for the great advice. I you do a search the guy said he got his out using "Brute Force" and he had a link to show all the pictures and instructions.
Happened to me. Need to replace defective hazzard switch. I had it done under warranty.
Mine is doing the exact same thing and got this info as well. So, she'll be going in after a bit to get this fixed (along with some other stuff before my GMPP runs out).
