Stereo bass on driver side is gone.
I have lost the bass on the driver side front and back. I still get highs but a popping sound is now going on instead of bass. My questions are: Is there an extra amp with this stereo or do I need to replace the head unit. This is a '99 with the Delco Bose unit with theftlock. If I decide to go with another stock unit (probably from ebay) how does the theftlock work and will I be able to install a used one with the theftlock?

There is a separate amp for the "bass" in each door. Check your connections. Might be your speaker or maybe the amp. went south but since it's an assembly, you'll need to replace the left door amp/speaker unit. HTH

There is a separate amp for each bass speaker for each front door. The others feed directly off the H/U.
Check connections first, otherwise you may possibly have a left channel issue in the H/U itself.
