Default How to remove the rear view mirror?

Is there some special trick or is it just a matter of prying carefully?

Remove screw/ bolt and slide the mirror up. Also, first disconnect the wire harness.

If you are talking about the windshield mounted rearview mirror, and there are no visible screws, take a flashlight and look at the mount from the outside through the windshield. You may have the mirror mount that consists of a strong, snap attachment. Hard to explain, but if you look at it you will understand it completely. There two tabs that need to be depressed and the mirror will slide right off the mount. I found the easiest way was to take a small vice grip and adjust it so it closes just enough on the tabs to hold them down enough to slide the mirror.

It will make sense once you look at it.
