The easy way not mentioned in the owners manual is to push the gas pedal to the floor twice with the ignition switch on but engine off.

ive never heard of that
unless its a joke telling you the answer to do it is found in your owners manual which it is =) you need to go through a list of options and button pushing. I dont know off the top of my head with out reading the user manual again =)

Other things happen in 3's as well...turn the key in your drivers door 3 times and see what happens. (I think they may have disabled this after '99 though)

The easy way is to navigate to the Oil % left display and continue pressing the Reset button until it turns to 100% life remaining or the message says "Now press the gas pedal 3 times with your ruby red slippers". There is no place like home.

All of the above work, I use the press and hold reset. Of course reading the owners manual works too...

Car enters James Bond security mode and explodes when any Russians are near.
Actually, I think it pops the hatch. I don't know because I don't ever put the key in the door, one thing that bothers me is a scratched up keyhole on a car.

The first turn of the key unlocks the driver's door, the 2nd unlocks the passenger door, and the 3rd pops the hatch.

Check the owners manual. It has instructions in there. Very easy to do.

When did a man ever read a manual when he can spend a good few hours trying to figure it out without asking anyone?

Just did it today. Turn key to acc. Press Trip until Oil Life Remaining comes up. Push reset for 3 seconds. You will see Oil Life Light change to 100%
