Headlight motor problem
Ok so i'm having a problem with the head light motor on my C-5 coupe, everytime i tune the lights off they fold down fine but i get a high pitched whine from the motor, like its straning. this just started happening a few days ago, any suggestions that would cost me a trip 2 the dealer would be great.

Sounds like a head light motor... they are fairly easy to replace. Just replaced one the other day that had the same symptoms... opened it up and the plastic gear was shredded along with the rubber dampner bushing crumbled from dry rot.

Rodney Dickman sells replacements for the plastic gears which are often the only problem in the headlight. They're brass - replaced mine and no more problem. Good luck. Hope this helps.

Only half the gear is used so you can flip the plastic gear around if it stripped (look at the last two pictures on the page. Fixed it for me!
