Stroker?
I want more performance from my C5, and I eventually want to put turbos on the car.
With this in mind, I have heard that converting the car to a 383 (or perhaps 407cui) Stroker will not only give me greater performance due to increased displacement, but will also make my engine stronger (and hence able to sustain greater boost) due to the forged components of the kit.
The kit I'm looking to buy is the Lunati Stroker kit, but I have some questions:
1) Has anyone any experience of this kit? Is it as good quality as the adverts say it is?
2) Is it a straight installation, or does the block need modifying at all?
3) What sort of power should I see on an otherwise stock MN6 1999 C5 with the 383 Stroker?
4) What sort of power difference would I see if I went for the 407cui stoker?
5) Is there anything else I should take the opportunity to do whilst the engine is in pieces?
6) Does the engine require running in after installation?
7) How long would installation take?
8) Does the ECU need to be retuned after the installation.
Lots of questions, can anyone help?
Thanks!

1) The lunati kits are good quality kits. There pistons aren't the best for a boosted application, though.
2) Your block will need to be machined, i.e. honed, align honed and possibly decked. Also the kit will need to be balanced, unless you buy it already balanced.
3) With the 383 mildly done you should see between 420-480rwhp
4) With the 408 we have seen over 500 at the tires naturally aspirated.
5) As much as possible
6)Yes there will be some break in miles needed, about 500 miles
7)Installing a engine in a vette should take about 1-2 days
8) You will require tuning with the bigger engines
If you have anymore questions please feel free to ask.
Thanks
