This is complete BS... you have to loosen the motor mounts and jack up on it a bit.. takes 10 more minutes. They make fantastic power and the fit/finish is awesome.

There may be a G5-X3 in my future

Today I witnessed an FRC with standard bolt-ons, stage 1 heads and X1 cam on a 150TNT shot put down 640rwhp and 732rwtrq. Not so bad if you ask me.

The G5x-3 is the way to go for power and lope. Dn side if any is that it will buck at low RPM's so since yours is a daily driver and if your in stop and go traffic......it would suck!! Big cams hate low RPM's and the flumes can give you a headace. IMOP this cam is for driving, personally if I were in traffic daily this would have been a problem for me. Hwy mpg is sitting around 25, city is a joke since every stop light is like a stage light IMOP 4.10's are neccessary, keeps you in the power band

Can you drive it in stop/go traffic at all? Or is it a serious PITA?

I just order the F-13 from Futral. From what I've read there his cams seem to make good gains with limited loss of driveability. Of course this has much to do with the tune. I would search or post on LS1Tech, much more info. over there.

It's a major PITA in traffic with the bucking. Your on the clutch constantly. I don't know how the x1 or even x2 cam would be in traffic but IMOP the G5x-3 is for driving. I avoid traffic situations just simply for this reason. At around 1500rpms in low gears she bucks. This is a driving cam
