Just installed a four new Nitto 555 RII tires on my A4 vert, wow.
275/40 17 front and 305/35 18 rear on ZO6 rims.
Drove to a straight stretch of country road where I tested the OEM run flats, brake torque until the tires start to rotate and and would smoke the run flats until I let off - about 200' of snakey black marks and so much smoke I couldn't see out of the mirrors.
The RII's with 33 psi left two foot spin marks, grabbed and bogged the car.
Going to a solo 2 event this Sunday and try them between the cones.
Any sugestions on tire pressures? Im thinking 36 fornt and 33 rear.

RII's are great tires
I've had my RII's on since the end of May.... absolutely amazing grip! I ran mine at 36 front and 33 rear during a clinic day at a nearby road course... the rears looked great... the fronts seemed to scuff a little past the markers on the tire shoulders so I bumped them up to 38 psi and that seemed to work just fine. My previous setup was BFG G-Force TA KD's on Grand Sport wheels which is a damn good tire/wheel combo for street and track days! But the RII's are in an entirely different league! Love these tires!!

The RII's use the same tread pattern as the 555R drag radial.... however the compounding is a little different and the sidewalls are stiffer for cornering performance. (That really didn't answer your ???)
The main difference between the regular 555 and the RII is it's an "R compound" racing tire that is "street legal" the the tread depth new is minimal and the wear rating is 100. The RII is much stickier and will wear out 2 or 3 times quicker that your 555's and you probably wouldn't want to do too much wet road driving cause they could get a little bit squirrelly!
I run considerably less pressure on the road course; 31f/30r cold. This translated to about 38f/36r hot. Tried a bit higher on the fronts and understeer increased significantly.
Where did you purchase the RII's from & what did they cost?
I got mine from Discount Tire for about $165/ea earlier this year. Lot's of fun for autox. Great tire. Haven't tried them on the track yet but I will this year. I don't drive them on the street at all.
