What are the cam specs? The cam card should state what the lash should be or LG should be able to tell you.

Out of curiosity, is this your motor? Any dyno numbers?

Is that .035 with the motor cold? I would think that is too much, but I am no expert. When the motor gets up to operating temp, it will loosen up some more. I would think that would be an incredibly noisy valve train. Mine is in the neighborhood of .012 when the motor is cold. BTW, I had mine too loose initially, and it was costing a good amount of power on the dyno.

Did you check the lash? Curious as to your method. I purchased a remote start switch. It is a little difficult to hook up to the starter, but it seems to get the job done. In fact, it is about time for me to check mine again. Mine is little bit of pain because I am running the KaTech valve covers, and I have to remove the alternator to get the driver's side cover off.

Ya your correct about the valve lash.. It needs to come down..

I was racing it saturday night and after the second race I heard TAP TAP TAP... It sounded like a loose/broken rocker, or broken valve spring. So we shut it down...

Well after pulling off the valve covers, it seemed that whoever adjusted the valves last must not have adjusted #1 intake, because the nut for the stud was gone... We found it loose lay'n on the head.. We got lucky that no damage was done..

We werent sure what to adjust the valve lash at so we set everything to .035... But we still havent driven it.. and should get everything set by tomorrow..

As far as how we did it.. we just bumped the motor over for each cylinder.. and gap'd the valve lash.. We got lucky and didnt have to loose'n or remove the alt. to get the covers off..
