For a while my driver side headlight has been acting up. Sometimes it will not come up, I don't hear the motor, but I crank it up some manually, then turn on the lights on and it comes up. Lately it hasn't happend but now when it closes I can hear the gear grinding inside. What is the easiest fix for this? I was considering taking it in on warranty, but if it is an easy and inexpensive fix I will do it myself. Also, when I turn just my driving lights on, my headlights pop up (not on though). This never happend before either. What are some of your suggestions?
I don't have the answer but I have the same problem on a 2003. The headlights pop up for no reason. We need answers from the senior members. Surely someone has had the same problem?
when I did my second one I think I have it positioned a bit to far down and it is causing it to not pop up sometimes..I need to readjust it...but anyway

It happens when the headlight motor gear breaks. I guess something goes out of sync. If you disconnect the electrical connector on the bad side and turn on the parking lights then turn them off and on again, the parking lights, only, will go on. As soon as you turn on the headlights they go out of sync again.
