Use some high test fishing line, and go at it with a sawing (back and forth) type motion. I got a rock chip in my rear spoiler, and that's how I took mine off. Then just get some pre-kleeno, or Goo-Gone and take the residue off, but don't forget to wax it afterwards.
Most have had excellent results taking theur BSM's off but I just thought it'd be a good counterpoint story since you've decided to do this. Never hurts to be aware of any gotcha's that can pop up.

Hi,
I just took mine off and the fishing line worked really good on the driver's side. When I went to the passenger's side, I started at the rear of the BSM and got the line under it far enough to where I could lift up the rear of the BSM. I then simply pulled it off. I had warmed it up with a hair dryer previously. It was a little harder to get the goo off, but the passenger side didn't get the little rub marks that the driver's door did.
Good luck, and plan to spend the better part of an afternoon getting it cleaned up.
I ended up getting a 17K mile black FRC. I love it. BSMs are coming off this weekend I hope. What cleaner will remove the adhesive without hurting the paint? I'm really afraid of this black...shows everything!

If you use the fishing line make sure to pull it outwards a little as you saw so it doesn't touch the door. The line will probably knick the BSM, but that is better than marking the door.

Mine are going to come off. Have to paint the fenders & doors anyway. Actually, I keep noticing a little scratch here and there and the deck lid has som nasty waterspots. Probably just paint the whole dang thing & be done with it. So if there is any interest, from those that love em, a full set in Navy will be available. BTW, what's wrong with naked?
