Default Z06 intake install tips?

I started tonight to change out the intake on my '99 to a Z06 intake.

Got everything unbolted and it can lift up an inch maybe at the best. Can't get it to come forward. Have Throttle body off and fuel rails with injectors off. New Z06 intake looks like it has a clip of some kind in the back, but can't get my stubby fingers around the back of the old one to feel anything. The back bolts on each side are loose, just can't get them out because of the area at the base of the windshield. They do lift up with the intake that inch or so.

Anybody got any advise or tips?

Going back out to the shop. Will check back in a little while. Thanks in advance

Try this link from JMX's site.....

Now, reach behind the intake manifold and there will be a sensor and a small vacuum hose to disconnect. Pull both of these off. Leave the big vacuum hose connected for now, the other end was disconnected in the previous step.

The back four bolts are probably hanging up on the heads. You cannot remove them because there is not enough room. I put some tape on them to hold the bolt up about an inch or so. That plus the sensor and hose in the back and you should be good to go.

Thanks again to PewterC5. That helped alot.

And, you were right, Stephen. Back two bolts were a little bit hard to come out. Couldn't get my hands on the intake and the bolts at the same time. Needed four hands.
I did the same thing. Duct tape to the rescue.

What I want to know is how others got the little vacuum line (if that's what it is) connected back up in the back? I lucked out the second try and had it lined up perfectly. I couldn't get my fingers back there to slide it in, but after I had the new intake in place, I could see that it was in the rubber elbow that I had already connected to the intake.

Lucked out I guess.

What is that vacuum line go to?
