OK, how much more horsepower /torque can you expect with a LS1 edit? I have TPIS LTs, Vortex Air Rammer/x-pipe, and RT low restriction CATS already installed in my 02 A4. Oh yeah, having the 3:42:1 rear installed too.................
Tough to answer w/o a wide-band dyno baseline to look at. It all depends on your current "state of tune". If your AFR's are all wacked out you could see as much as 15 RWHP if your AFR's are real close to ideal (12.7:1) then you won't get as much improvement.
I'd say in general terms LS1Edit will yield between 10 and 20 RWHP/RWTQ. Of course this is just a rough estimate and your results will vary.
Since you have a few modifications you might see a nice gain. But that is just a maybe. With my heads/cam/headers I gained 25rwhp and 30 ft/lbs at the wheels with LS1 edit. Since then I have added a few things so I am gonna have it retuned eventually and see if I get anymore. I say go for it. Kaley
If you have never done a PCM tune after your mods, then you could do pretty well. A-4's have alot more to gain then a mn6 car. You can first change your fan temps to keep your engine temps down..this helps knock retard and keeps engine in optimal hp operating range. Change of torque management. Change your shift points of tranny. Most of all get your air/fuel ratios in the right range....too lean= engine damage/too rich= bad fuel economy . I would venture to say that with your mods you might be slighlty on the lean side.
I got mine dyno tuned with LS1edit a few weeks ago.
I gained no rwhp/tq. I dyno'd within a few hp when I drove up as when I left (within 5). I say I gained none, because my last dyno of the day when all was said and done my car had been sitting there with a fan sitting on top of the intake manifold. Final 361/349
I would recommend it though. My car idled terrible before (even with my little cam), my fans were pretty much useless and I ran REALLY hot at the track so now they come on and stay on at much lower temps, and I had my rev limiter moved from 6200 to 6800rpm. My a/f is now flat and true without all the little hiccups it had before.
I haven't made it to the track (won't stop raining on track days) to see what kind of numbers it puts down now, but I expect to cut a few tenths off my time - even with our super hot/humid air down here.
