battery box drainage

99 was on a rack the other day and noticed the frame has rust down the rail from the battery box. I assume this is normal. What is a good fix or what battery will not leak. The biggest problem I see is there is a computer with it's wiring harness awfull close to the corossion.
Any suggestions.

It is not normal, it is a sign of acid leaking from the battery. You need to check for acid damage and get any left over acid out. Put in a nonleaking battery and remove the corrosion and get a good coat of paint over the area after neutralizing the acid left. It is a BAD thing.

Get an AGM battery, they do not leak. Sometimes the leaks follow the battery cables, check for that. Consider yourself lucky if the computer or connections aren't affected.
