I am curious how the linkage from our C5 shifter gets to the rear mounted tranny. Does anyone have some pictures that show this? Or can anyone explain to me. I understand how the T-56 works in a Camaro where the shifter is directly bolted into the tranny but just don't see how the C5 does it.
Also forgive this stupid question but since the C5's TC in an automatic is in the rear is the clutch also located in the rear of the car?
Right in the middle of the torque tube is a box, that's where the shifter connects. Then you see the rod that goes into a bellhousing-looking thing, that attaches to the front of the tranny. The end!
Thanks that is exactly what I was looking for. So if the Clutch is in the front what is at the very back of the torque tube? (the large round section bolted to the front of the tranny)
Also one more question. Is the internals of the C5 M6 tranny just like the internals of the Camaro T-56 tranny? I assume they are all similar but are they’re any out of the ordinary differences?

There is pretty much nothing in there at all. The remainder of the shift linkage, and the shaft from the tranny to the torque tube.
Thanks, I am helping a freind out and I was afraid something was in there that I might not know about. Everything seems to be pretty basic and straight forward. I guess I do get lucky once and awhild.
Yeah, it's very similar assembling/disassembling the torque tube/tranny/diff. The hardest part was getting that fricken roll pin out of the shift linkage to be able to seperate it.
