Well I know some people have been having trouble with lowering the front of thier cars because of the bolts sometimes getting stuck and then rounding off. I have the problem that my bolts are stuck and I have tried everything I can think of to get it off. It is only the right side of the car. I have tried pushing the spring up to get wieght off of it, I have taken the whole front end apart so that the lower A arm hangs down. I have hammered on a VERY tight socket onto the bolt. Nothing seems to want to make it budge, it just wants to round off. I have sprayed oil down through the bolt to try and loosen it. But nothing seems to be working. Does anyone have any other ideas to get this thing unstuck? It would be REALLLY appreciated! Thanks alot!
I didn't have any trouble with mine... is yours currently in the middle of it's travel? if not, are you sure you're turning it in the right direction?
Sounds like you've done everything required to unload the bolt
Greg,
I had one like that, also.
I used vice grips or channel locks on the bottom of the bolt (the metal part of the bushing under the spring). There is a lot more area there to clamp onto. Twist in both directions.

If you can apply it safely use propane to heat the bolt it sholud loosen then.
Something's wrong. When I relieved the pressure of the transverse leaf spring on my front end bolts, I could turn them with my fingers. Also, I really don't know how corrosion could make the threads tight as the female threads are integral with the fiberglass spring. I think the bolts were galvanized anyhow.
