stock shifter ZO6
i have had many vetts in my time ,i own a new zo6 ,the problem is shifting ,the shifter is smooth ,does not stick or rattle ,but likes to go into 3rd from 4th ,it could be an engine poper ,ive never had this trouble with any of my vetts just the z , is there a fix for the stock shifter ,without going to a hurst or other aftermarket shifter ,im almost afraid to shift out of 4th at a high r p m ,thanks in advance joe c

It is a matter of learning to push to the right to go up to 5th. The shifter gates in 3/4, you pull left for 1/2 and push hard right for 5/6. No after market shifter is going to teach you the pattern, only time and muscle memory will do it. So get out on the road and pratice for lots of miles.

I had the same thoughts about my 6 speed so I put a hurst in. The shifter is great but it still has to be shoved over a little for 5th and 6th.Just another learning curve for us corvette people. Gary

With practice, the spring load will be your friend
