I put a set of Kumho Ecsta ASX's on my 2000 coupe. stock sizes(275 rear). I got 22,000 off the OEM Goodyears but they had gotten to the sound like a 747 stage..... these Kumhos are amazing..... I can talk to my passenger again. Quiet and smooth ...... and best of all they come with a 30,000 mile warranty. (Told the guy I would be back for new ones before 30,000). Anyway . ... to the point .. I had them put 30 lbs in all four .. anyone got a better suggestion as to tire pressure on these all weather tires.

I just put the same ASX's on my 1999 coupe. Had Goodyear's. Almost went with the MX, but there seems to be supply problems. After further research, I'm glad I went with the ASX's. My Goodyears had better dry traction because the were "stickier", which also meant I got less than 20K miles on them. The MX also have a lower tread life rating, again which means "stickier" for dry, but poor in wet. The ASX is intended to be "all-season" so does better in the wet, but does sacrifice some dry performance. I don't need this "dry-performance" and would prefer the security of an all-season tread with good life!
All in all, I'm REALLY happy with the choice!
Thanks for the info, I agree about the goodyears they have good traction but a short life. Thanks again, it's great to have corvette buddys' tobounce ideas to. Gary
Yep..... there is less dry response .. but only on the "edge" .... the pluses out weight anything else for me:
1) 30,000 mile tread warrenty
2) security on wet roads
3) I can hear again ........ I can hear the exhaust at cruise not the whine of the tires ... and I saved over $300.00
Damn .. I am humming(and I can hear it) all the way to the bank. Goodyear needs to take a lesson ...
I have been going back and forth for the last week about which tires to buy for my vette. I was thinking about Michelin Pilot's and had no intention of ever purchasing Goodyears again, but I was on the Tirerack website and was reading about the Kumho's and just wasn't sure about what to do. I popped onto this website for something unrelated to my tires and saw this thread. Now I have no doubt about what to buy. I can buy 4 tires for the price of less than 2 Goodyears and all the benefits of an all season tire. Not Runflats, but so what I can plug a tire faster than most pit crews. LOL
Anyway, thanks to everyone and long live the Forum.
I too have been looking at Michelins, and Kumo's, along with others. From what I have read, and who I talked too, and machines I have ridden in the michelins seem to be a better tire all around, dry, and wet traction, and they are quiet also.
