i'm sure some people have put the z06 stock cam on their c5 ls1, so i'm curious as to what the results were. would this be worth the install and time, etc. a friend of mine put a new cam in his z and will cut me a deal if i want to get his old one. worth it or not?
As long as your willing to swap out the cam go with something bigger, if you want to maintain a good idle and stock sound go with something that has around 114 LSA and around 224-228 duration.
IMO installing a LS6 cam in a NA motor is a waste of time
Cam are not that expensive, especially considering the pwer gains, If your goingt o open the motor up you may as well put some thing worth while in there, You wont see a huge increase with the ZO6 cam. I dont think i would put one in mine even if the cam were free.

And if you can afford it a couple of heads will really wake up your motor.
you would have to install different valves or pushrods to correct for the Z06 cam base circle, so I agree that an aftermarket cam would be a wiser choice.
