My first brand new car was a 1971 Chevelle SS454. You think #7 plug on a C5 'Vette is tough? The #7 plug on the SS was a lot tougher.
I also have a '96 Z-28 in my fleet. As someone else already mentioned, a plug change on the C5 is a day at the beach compared to the Z. Step 1 on the Z is disconnect battery, then disconnect the buried O2 sensor connectors. Step 2 is remove front portion of the exhaust system. So far, time spent including getting car safely on stands...1.5-2 hours.
Remove and replace 7 of the plugs...about 20 minutes. Find proper combination of sockets, extensions and swivels, then remove and replace #2 plug...About 45 minutes or so. (#2 is buried under the exhaust manifold and alternator, but above the power stering pump and lines. You CANNOT really see the plug, it's all done by feel, and with very outstretched arms.)
Reinstall exhaust system. Total time, around 4-4.5 hours. (I cheat...I have air tools)
Nooooo...but a few times I've journeyed across the mighty Mississippi River to East St. Louis (regional joke?) with $30 and CAME BACK WITH CHANGE!
Looks like someone overpaid! Now who's laughing?
Got an appointment at the free clinic  so gotta run...
in 1966 for 30 dollars you could have your pick of any one at Susie's house of pleasure... for your whole 3 day R&R... it was a draining experience.. Bankok rocked...
