Default exedy Single disc

is it true that the hyper single disc is good upto 650 ft/lbs but only 400 hp. who is using this clutch and how much power are they putting down to the ground. how does it feel, and compare to similar prices clutches.

I don't know where you heard that, and that doesn't even make any sense.

I have it, I believe the documentation said 650hp at the flywheel.

I have ~420rwhp, no problems.

it's on the WCC website under it's description. it says for light to moderately modified cars upto 400hp. if you don't believe me check out the west coast corvette site.

Must just be a typo or something.

http://www.daikin-clutch.com/products/PDF/Corvette.pdf

Says 650ft/lbs, no mention of HP. HP doesn't really mean much of anything when you're talking about a clutch. I also would find it really hard to believe you could have 400hp and 650tq unless it was a huge big block with a small cam

Clutch needs to hold torque, HP is just a mathmatical function of that torque.

I like the single so far. Do a search on my name for my write-ups on it.

The other way you could have lots of torque with little HP is a diesel powered C5

Default Exedy good for?

I thought that Exedy single disc was good to 800 rwhp. I have 563 rwhp now and it works great. I'm planning to upgrade to approx. 700 rwhp. I going to use that same clutch.

With that amount of rwhp, what shows up as a weak spot in the C5 besides tires? Gary
