Default What Clutch!

My car is getting really hard to shift and the clutch has some play in it. What is a good clutch for high horsepower? Lets say 600 rwhp and 550 rwtq!

Everybody's probably going to say the exedy twin disk, but realistically speaking probably the spec 3, thats the one I'm going to try.

Holy Crap! It is an '04 with under 400 rwhp and you are already having clutch problems?! Have the dealer replace it under warranty.

If you are looking for a replacement for 600rwhp, then I would say the Exedy seems to be the one to go with nowadays and my personal opinion is to stay as far away from SPEC as you can. I had a SPEC Stage 3 with under 2K miles at the brink of blowing up on my C4 and they have horrible customer service. The Luk Gold Series 2 is supposed to be good to 550 torque, may be worth looking at as well.

I'm with you, the car has 14k miles on it. It JUST started doing it out of nowhere. I'm either going low compression heads and turbo or blower within the next 3 months so I'll need a new one anyway.

Third is the hardest to get into. I think I made up my mind to go the exedy twin disk. $1700 is a big chunk of change though. I assume it has a lighter flywheel than stock for that kind of money!

Spend the extra grand and get the Exedy dual disc. The Exedy does come with a chrome molly fly-wheel.

I don't think you can go wrong with the Exidy twin or single disk clutch. Just FYI the stock clutches are Mfg by Luk. When mine went it wasn't the disk it was the pressure plate that glazed over and had hot spots.
