Default 28 Degrees in Nashville

My car says the outside temperature today in 28 degrees. The worst thing about this is the air conditioner won't come on. The temp sensor has been acting pretty goofy for a couple of weeks but this is the first time it has read below 32. I called the dealer and they said bring the car and leave it for a day and they will diagnose the problem and fix it. I imagine the sensor has simply gone bad. Does anybody know the part number for the ambient temp sensor? I am not about to leave my car at the dealer for a day so they can tear it up.

First easy question...

Are you sure you're not stuck in Metric units? 28 C is 82 F, and today is a very nice day in Nashville...

Anyway, have you set any DTC codes?

Pull them by pressing and holding the OPTIONS button and pressing the FUEL button four times.

It is reading F and yes, I have checked for codes and there are none. As I said, the temp reading has been off in random ways for a few weeks now. One day it will read 91 and the next it will read 56. Sometimes it will suddenly start working correctly. But, if I turn off the motor, the next time I start it the temp may be reading incorrectly again. My guess is the temp sensor is simply going/gone bad, which is why I asked if anybody knew the part number for it. I think it is located on the passenger side of the car at the bottom of the radiator housing.

Easy and cheap fix. My ext temp sensor went haywire and the dealer part is around $8,also add the push connector with it for 30 cents. If the ext temp reads too low the ac will not work. Do a search here and the fix will take around 15 mins.
