I recently purchased a used set of tire sensors off a 98 vette on e-bay( trying to save a few bucks!).. The guy told me all four work properly, but when i rerceived them i see small cracks near the base on two of the sensors. does anyone know if this will effect the sensors working properly?is there any way to check to see if they work before mounting them? I am buying a new set of wheels and would like to not have to remove a bad sensor on brand new set of wheels if possible..
If you get a chirp for all 4 sensors, they should be functional. If you start the car after you programmed these, and the sensors are still in close proximity to the car, you should expect a "flat tire" message for all 4 sensors, and they should show 0psi.
Then reprogram the sensors that are in your current wheels, so you can drive in the meantime without error messages, and once you do get the new wheels/sensors/tires put on the car, reprogram them (the sensors in the new wheels) again, and all should be well.
