04 Convertable. 6 spd. Engine check light came on last night. Dealer says its a transmission code. P083. No techs available for tranny work on Saturday. I suspect the code is really P0803. According to IPC code documentation on the forum: P0803 1-4 Upshift Solenoid Control Circuit (M/T) -BCan anyone tell me if P083 is a valid code and what it means?
I do have the 1-4 shift eliminator installed.
Thanks

Use this link to check your codes yourself **codes** then erase them and see if they come back, you'll probably have some common communication erros associated with the LDCM, RDCM, SCM and radio but don't worry about those.
BTW - you are correct there is no such code as P083
Check my recent posts in C5 Tech. I was getting the same code, P0803 C H. Turns out the resistor in my skip shift bypass was toast (open). I replaced the resistor with a 2.2k ohm, 1/2 watt. Purchased at local Radio Shack for 99 cents for package of 5. This corrected the error code problem. Good luck.
I had the same problem on my 04 also. Turned out to be the skip shift bypass. Took it off reset codes and it has been fine since. I had mine on for about a couple of months before it apparently went bad and put the check engine light on. Never thinking it went bad I took mine in for service they charged me $85 to analyze it because I put it on. I think those were the codes but can not remember for sure. Just take it off and clear codes and see if they come back on.
Thanks for the advice everyone. Downloaded the IPC Codes document. Cleared code. Has not come back. If it does, I'll know to check the CAGS skip shift eliminator. Thanks for saving me time and $$.
