Default Exhaust Flange

Just got done fixing my trans leak (I hope), crawled out from under the car and stood there content in my belief that I finally fixed that problem. All of a sudden I hear a loud "ping" - what the @#$! is that? Crawl back under the car and see that the right side over the axle pipe is disconnected from the section behind the H pipe. On further inspection I realized that the flange that should be connected to the H pipe section snapped off cleanly and is still bolted to the over the axle pipe. The H pipe still has the flare where it was welded to the flange. How do I get this fixed? Can the flange be welded back on the H pipe. Also noticed that the weld on the flange on the left side exhaust appears to be coming undone - anyone experience this? Did a search but can't find any mention of this problem. I did lightly graze the exhaust tips with my arm when I was crawling out from under the car but did not hit them that hard. Have never bottomed out the car or done anything to cause this. It is a well taken care of '00 FRC with only 7K miles. What do I need to do to fix this?

There sure is a lot of this going around lately. Im sure you have seen the previous posts by now. My 00 had over 23000 on it and never had a problem. I have since changed to kooks and a Ti exhaust. An option in addition to having it welded which should solve your problem but may misaline the tips some, is to surf the parts for sale forum. There are probably tons of good h-pipes for sale from people who have "converted". You should be able to pick one up cheap, depending on freight costs. Good luck
