I installed a set of LG long tube headers and a LS6 intake manifold on my 98 and only increased the overall hp at peak rpms by 12 rwhp. However, the rwhp increased between 12 to 17 at other rpms.
Is that how the manufactures come up with their hp numbers (by using the best increase at any rmp?)
Before these mods I installed a Twin Flow intake and Borla exhaust.
I picked up about 25RWHP with that setup AFTER dyno tune, so hopefully you will pick up some more after your tune. I was running a Blackwing at the time though, and I think they flow a little better than your filter...no turbulence from the dual cone I believe, but I doubt there is much difference.
I picked up zero hp with my tune. Car runs MUCH better, but dyno'd within 3hp of when I drove up to when I left after the motor had cooled.
Then I went to the track and ran a new best twice and it was much hotter and MUCH more humid than the last time I went. So I figure it is money well spent.
I just had my car tuned and I gained another 10rwhp. The tuning was by far cheaper then the mods. The LG headers and the ls6 intake added about 12 hp and the tune added 10 hp.
The mods are at about $300 per hp and the tune was at about $60 per hp.
