I am putting 2003 LS6 heads, cam, injectors, MAF, headers and TB on my 2K Vert. Going for the 405 HP motor. Do you recommend replacing the valve springs, retainers, valve guides, pushrods etc. with aftermarket pieces on these 12,000 mile heads or using the stock Z06 parts?

Thanks, Phil

Got mine!!! Good luck with it. Depending on how much HP you will want will determine which internals you change. Remember the modding bug is contagious.

All that stuff is obvious, now tell me what you did and how good (or bad) did it work?

That's a lot to replace to only shoot for 405 BHP. Unless the parts you are adding came really cheap - that much work - for only 55 BHP gain? You should have pretty good reliabilaty with the Z06 parts but - headers and a cold air intake should do almost that well. You might want to check out some of the H/C pkgs. that are out there now. They will push around 500 BHP (400+RWHP) and the install would be the same as you are looking at. Good Luck.

If you're going to do it then go over and above Z06 power... look into a nice mild h/c package and get 430ish rwhp.

HP isn't that easy to make. With all of my options listed in my sig. I maxed out at 398 RWHP. More useable power is more like 365 RWHP to coincide with the torque curve. M6's are slightly higher and can more easily get away with a bigger cam.
