I'm trying to do some research on this, but this setup is old-school and I can't find much in the searches I've done. I want to go with TPIS and a magnaflow x-pipe no cats.

How do the TPIS headers hook up to a Magnaflow x-pipe? Does the x-pipe mate right up to the TPIS flanges? If anyone has pix that would be great.

If you're interested in an alternative to Magnaflow I posted the following in an earlier thread. Dr Gas does a lot of NASCAR exhausts and their x-pipe gave my car a nice hp bump.

The TPIS/Dr Gas set-up is a good one. If you call Dr Gas ask for Neil(I think) and the x-pipe specd. by Danny Popp( natl autocross champ). It's a slip-fit over the header (you can get an exhaust shop to expand the x-pipe end a little if need be). I found an extra center section and cut the cats off to fit and used 2 1/2" ss band clamps to attatch. I still have my other catted section if I need to go back to it. On my '00 coupe this mod was worth about 17 rwhp and 10-15 lbs less weight. I also use the Z06 catback and it sounds great

i think the only offroad pipe you can get for the TPIS is the random technologies x-pipe. i know because i am running into the same problem. i don't want to buy a all new x-pipe when i just need about a 12 inch section to replace the area when the cats normally fit.. going to have a exhaust shop weld me in one

The Dr Gas x-pipe is about 18" long so you cut off the cats in front of the oxygen sensors. The pipe is a slip fit over the header
(TPIS) collector and rear exhaust section, though it could be welded if desired.
