Fluidampr install question
Just broke down and bought a new fluidampr. Should be here in a few days?
I have a couple of questions.
1. I have read on the forum that you must remove the steering rack to get to the damper bolt. Can you simply remove the two bolts holding the steering rack and disconnect the power steering lines then, if the car is up on a rack, tilt the wheels inward pusing the rack toward the front of the car? Looks like to me that would give you plenty of room to get a puller on the hub. But could this somehow hurt the steering rack or tie rod ends?
2. Woodruff keys. What size key should I get? Would any auto parts store know the correct size?
3. Timing marks. When the fluidampr is installed should the timing marks match up like the OEM hub with the key used? It is my understanding that the OEM hub is pressed on without using the key, so will the timing marks be off on the fluidampr when the key is used?
Thanks for any feedback. I am looking forward to my upgrade and want to get it right. Any other advice would be appreciated..
