thats my understanding. pads are better on 2002 and up (not sure on the year)

Difference between brakes ZO6 and Coupe
I was hoping someone could tell me the difference between ZO6 brake calipers and standard C5 Coupe's. Are the ZO6 brakes a direct bolt on? Are there any gains in performance or do they just look

Z06/C5 caliper differences?
The calipers are the same except for the red paint - the pistons are all aluminum. You need to go aftermarket for S/S pistons or titanium caps.
Stock, a Z06 does come with different pads though.
