Default Will headers with cats affect emissions inspection (outside LA)

Getting ready next week to have my kooks headers with high flow cats and xpipe installed next week. I'd just like to get a few last minute questions out of the way. Will I have any problems in the future with NY state emission inspections when I have my kooks headers with high flow cats and xpipe. They'll be mated to my Z06 ti exhaust. I also have a blackwing installed. Do you think it might be a problem in the future? What about the upcoming ODBI standards that are coming next year (I think that's how you spell it). Thanks for any input in advance. As the day gets closer, I seem to be salivating more and more.

Default You lucky son of a gun...

I too am drooling in anticipation of some long tube headers, hi-flow cats and cutouts for my '98 and have checked with my mechanic and a couple of muffler guys as to whether passing Missouri emissions requirements will be affected. I have received assurances from each of them there will be no problem but since you are not in Missouri I'm unsure if this has any meaning to you...

In any case, have fun with those headers!

If you have a proper PCM tune you should not have any problems with the inspection. If they do a visual inspection, then you might have some problems. The OBD II test is using the plug under the dash. It reads the PCM rather than a tail pipe sniffer they currently use. The PCM is more accurate, but again a good tune will get you thru. If in doubt, find a tuner/friend/dealer/yourself who has scan equipment and go for a spirited 20 minute drive or use a Tech II. That will give you the results before you go to the inpection.
