Default Tire Sensors

This has probably been asked many times before but, if your tire sensor battery fails due to age or when you have them removed because of non run flat tire replacement, do you get a warning and how do you eliminate the warning for good.

Sensor batteries are supposed to last 10 years. I have not had one go bad. Keep in mind you do not have to remove them with non run flats. The sensors will still be working, still pretty useful I think. So I know this is not a good answer, but, why remove the function ?

To answer your question. If battery fails there is a vendor that can open it up and replace the battery. If the sensor is damaged you can always purchase a new sensor. But if you decide to remove the sensors you will get a warning as the computer is expecting the sensor data. You need to have a shop use a Tech 2 to turn off the sensor option. But as skip89 said, you don't need to remove them with regular tires. Most of us with Z06's added sensors to our non run flat F1 Supercar tires because it's such a functional option.

I added them to my Z but understand you can ruin them if you use the fix-a-flat goop. I bought a 5th sensor when I bought mine in case I'm forced to use the goop.

$60 for a sensor to get my $50K home is probably less than the cost and wait for a flatbed not to mention all the time spent worrying about where to tow the car etc.
