Default Shift LIght Install Pics

Here's a couple pics of my shift light I just installed. I used Flyin 'Brian's excellent instructions of connecting it to the tach wire under dash on drivers side.
Decided to mount it in the dual gauge pod pillar like several forum members have done. All that was required was to drill a 3/4" hole in the gauge pod and the shift light fits very nice and snug.
Wiring was also easy after finding the correct white wire to tap as Brian suggests. There's 4 white wires in the bundle and had to go through all 4 before hitting the right one! The correct one was one of the 3 smaller white wires. The larger off-white color wire that Brian used wouldn't work for me.
Entire install only took 1 1/2 hr.

Excellent work. That is my favorite spot. If only I had a reason to put gauges in. Then I could move mine there.

That is bad-***! Thanks for posting the pic! I now know how I'm going to mount mine!

I'm going to install a PLX WB-02 and a digital/analog gauge in the first pod along with the shift light where you show. I now need something to install in the second pod.... what do you guys suggest for a NA car?

Also - if I can't decide upon another gauge to install, does anyone know where to get a 'blank' filler to close up the hole?

Thanks again!!

[edit] Could you please post a link to his instructions... I've tried searching by username and come up w/ nothing. Thanks again.

The shift light is a Harlan. The gauges are 2 1/16", I believe, as it looks like my pod (which is an Autometer dual-gauge). Not sure how it works on other shift lights, but the harlan actually breaks down and has a small IC w/ a row of DIP switches on it that you set for the activation RPM.

Wow - I didn't realize the Raptor and the Harlan were so similar. At this point, I really can't tell... lol... it looks just like my Harlan, but the Raptor looks like the Harlan (and vice-versa) as well.

That's a Raptor pictured above. The Harlan is too big to be mounted like that. Actually, the Raptor is much smaller in diameter than the Harlan. If you remember, I made the custom Harlan brackets. I based them on the Raptor but had to scale them up quite a bit to fit the Harlans. Here's a pic of the Raptor bracket on the left and the custom Harlan I made on the right.

It is an Arizona Nitrous Technology Shift Light. They seem to be identical to the Raptor lights including the adjustment screws & switches.
The light fits in the 3/4" hole very tight but is still fairly easy to slide in and out which allows adjusting RPM settings as needed. Just be sure and leave enough slack wire inside the gauge pod to accommadate this.

The pod is an Autometer Duel Gauge unit with 2 1/16" Autometer Cobalt Gauges.

Here's a link to Arizona Nitrous Technology site"
http://www.nitrous4less.com/

The above link doesn't seem to be working?
If you do a search on Yahoo for "Arizona Nitrous Technology", it will take you right to the site.

Wow - I didn't realize there was such a difference. I stand corrected.

I really want the clean look of that install, so I'll probably get a raptor and sell my Harlan and mount.

Thanks for the confirmation.

Gald I'm not the only one with that kind of luck. Love the Raptor!

J-Rod, you can use the stock bracket that comes with the Raptor to mount that one. The larger one I designed for the Harlan was a special I did for a coule of buddies. Here's my Raptor mount.

Ive been watching this tread...I have to now get the raptor light, and gauge pods. I was wondering, any gauges I might better stay away from. I was thinking Id go with an auto meter electric fuel pressure gauge and Im not sure for the A/F mixture...I guess auto meter also. Anyone else have anyother suggestions. Thanks guys.

Great looking install with the guages. Where did you get the guage holder?

Thanks Jerrod. Yes, the shift light comes with a mounting clip that can be fastened to your stock A-Pillar. I've seen it installed this way and it looks good.
Hope to see you at the Z06 Fest again next year. Can I put in an early request to you to make a couple passes down the track in my car again next year?
