Tire Pressure Sensor Help
I have a 98 with one sensor not reading anymore. I've done the reprogram procedure 3 times now and the horn honks for the nonreading sensor everytime but will not show any tire pressure. Does this mean the sensor is dead? Could anyone give me an idea what 1 sensor is worth in US$, my wife is going to Chicago next week and if the price is right I will get her to pick me one up as here in Toronto the dealer wants $225.00 CDN for 1 sensor . I can get a used one for $150.00 CDN but I really dont want to take the chance of it dying on me after getting one.

No I haven't tried Ken. I just figured that having my wife pick one up for me while she's down in the states would save me a bundle in all kinds of extra taxes to have it shipped across the border.
Did you drive the car after relearning the sensors?
The TPM system receives the information to monitor the tire pressure in all four wheels through each of the sensors. The vehicle must be traveling 16-24 km/h (10-15 mph) before the sensors will transmit the tire pressure information. At this speed, the sensor roll switches activate in order to transmit each unique location identification code to the receiver.
Sounds like your nicad battery went dead in the sensor. They are supposed to last 10 years. I have seen them on E-Bay rebuilt exchanged for fifty percent less then what the dealer wants !!!
I just had my local dealer install 4 new sensors on my 03 ZO6. They were 61 USD apiece. Charged me 100 to install, rebalance tires, turn on the compuer and activate the sensors. If you can't get a fair price, I will mail you one for cost. I am sure my dealer will sell them reasonably. Gene

Thanks for the offer Gene. I will let you know next week after I see how my wife makes out in Chicago this weekend. If she doesn't get me one I will take you up on your offer.
