Water pump question
Hi guys,
Simple question here. On my water pump, there are two relatively small rubber hoses that connect onto the side of the pump, right next to where the larger hose that goes to the radiator connects up to. Where do these hoses go? Is one of them supposed to have a check valve on it?

The one near the front, i can't remember but i think its the smaller one has usually a valve thats part of the thermostat (bottom section) small steel ring with a spring apart fom the thermostat valve but i one piece.
