Default Suspension Questions....

I have a '97 A4 with Z51 suspension. I notice that it rides lower than most of 'vette's I've seen. Today for example I was parked next to a new Z06 and my car was about a inch lower than the Z. I guy I bought it from said that the suspension was stock. Does the Z51 ride lower? I've read on the site that the suspension can be lowered by tighening down on some screws. Is that true? Can the suspension be adjusted up? Thanks in advance for your help.

You can raise ur suspension via the "screws". Personally I think it looks better lowered but you have to be more careful with it. Good luck.

no, yes, yes Also, comparing a '97 with a new Z - your old shocks may not be as spritely as his new ones.

The ride height is adjustable via the mounting bolts on the ends of the spring. You can raise/lower it probably 2 inches that way.

Yes, the suspension or trim height as it is referred to can be adjusted up or down. But, before you go to turning bolts, I would highly recommend that you obtain a GM Service Manual for your car's model year. Section 3, Suspensions will provide you with the Trim Height Specifications and detailed procedures for inspecting and adjusting the trim height. To inspect and properly adjust the trim height, you need to make sure your car is on a level surface, such as an alignment rack. Also, after adjusting the trim height, the alignment should be checked and adjusted as necessary. Hope this helps.
