13 volts switched???
I have been trying to install a satellite radio system in the new 2004 I just picked up. I have tested all the circuits in the fuse box located at the right side interior of the car, but all the fuses are hot all the time. That is, nothing is switched by the ignition. So I tapped the leads at the back of the factory radio, and found one green lead that is running about 11 volts and it is switched by the ignition....great! The bad news is the lower voltage is not enough to start the satellite radio, it needs a good 12-13 volts. So what I did was tap a circuit in the fuse box and add in a switch that kills the receiver, but I have to shut it down manually. does anyone know where I can pick off a solid 13 volts at 3 amps that would be switched by the ignition????
