Default Halltech Stinger GP update and VR stack question..

Hi, I'm new and just got my 2003 coupe, I love forums and want to thank you on the Halltech GP, I just called and it is at 199.99 plus free shipping. It looks like a great and simple system. I was considering vararam, but I dont like to mess around with installation too much. I hope it flows great. Well anyway I was wondering if that VR stack really did anything? Their claim is 13 rear wheel, pretty unbelievable from a piece of plastic. I have asked a couple sales sites I have bought other stuff from and they told me that they wouldn't buy it....very bold considering they are there to sell, but I always appreciate not buying something that doesnt work. Thank you

Congratulations on the new vette and welcome to the forum....neebie!

Good choice on intake

Looks like many have read your posted question. Not sure what your part is in question? You may want to post a link or picture.

Intakes have been a hot topic around here lately.

I think he's refering to the VR Velocity Stack seen here:

Fits all GM V6 and V8 Trucks from 1996-2004 and all GM GenIII V8 equipped cars from 1998-2004.

Features:
--Designed to produce power and torque throughout the RPM range
--Increases throttle response
--Increases gas mileage
--Increases acceleration
--Installs in just minutes!
--A patent-pending design!
--Eliminates the need for a ported throttle-body by smoothing and reshaping the throttle-body entrance to increase the incoming air velocity at each given RPM

Note: Customers with ported throttle-bodies and or smooth tubes, please call us for a custom made version to fit your application.

In Truck applications we have seen gains of up to 22+ ft/lbs of tire-shredding torque throughout the power curve where you can use it! As tested in a 2004 Silverado 5.3 V8. In LS1 car applications, gains of up to 13 rear wheel HP have been seen (03 C5 Corvette).

Guaranteed to increase your performance or we will buy it back*

We spent over a year in R&D on this product to give guaranteed performance at an affordable price and we at VaraRam Industries think that you will be quite impressed with our latest offering.

Each VR velocity stack is designed for a specific application, so ask one of our sales representatives for the unit that's right for your application.

Why it Works:

The VR velocity stack was designed to reshape the factory throttle-body in order to boost air flow velocity at each given RPM. The overall shape of each VR velocity stack has undergone some of the most intensive airflow research that we have ever done to produce the best overall shape for each engine's airflow requirements. In order to achieve this we:

1. Created a balanced airsteem between the upper and lower portion of the throttle-body blade = more airflow.
2. We then changed the shape of the entrance to build up a higher velocity charge at each given RPM. This allows the intake charge force in the manifold to be increased = increased throttle response and added torque and power under the curve where you can use it.
3. Streamlining the intake was also achieved by directing the air in a controlled fashion to reduce any power robbing turbulence over the AIR and PCV valve to maximize the overall efficiency of the factory throttle-body's overall diameter.
4. Each velocity stack features a varied plenum volume whether in front of the throttle-body or in overall length to help them boost the primary and secondary pressure waves during the cylinder firing process = a tuned and more balanced induction system giving you much better overall combustion efficency = more power and better gas milage.

Yes, that is it, so does anyone have one? Does it really work?

Reminds me a lot of the air foil for the C4. That one was worthless. Don't know about this one for the C5, but I've fallen for the air foil once, not going to do it again until I see an actual dyno test by a member here.
