GM Techs: C6 HUD in C5?

GM Techs: C6 HUD in C5?
Hi,
Does anyone know the following:
Does the C6 HUD use the same interfaces (physical and software) as the C5 HUD?
Does the C6 HUD have the same physical dimensions as the C5 HUD?
I'm curious to know if it would be an easy swap with the C5's HUD. I do not mind if the G-Meter is non-functional (although any C5 with AH should have the necessary sensors, just getting the data to the HUD would be the problem).
I'm assuming the HUD unit itself contains the processor that controls the display behavior, so it would just need the correct data (in the correct format) being sent to it. I remember reading that the C6 uses a new data transmission protocol and/or data format than the C5. I haven't been able to verify if this is true or not.
Can any GM techs shed some light on this topic?
