I've done the turkey baster exchange on my power steering reservoir a couple of times now, replacing about 1/3-1/2 quart each time with Red Line power steering fluid. The first basting was very dirty, but the second was fairly clean. This leads me to believe that :
1) The turkey baster method does actually remove a significant portion of the total fluid in the system.
and either...
2a) The Red Line synthetic fluid decreases wear/tear.
or...
2b) Initial break-in wear/tear grime and assembly greases are taken out with the first basting, and then wear/tear levels off.

I'm sure that will work, although I was hoping that there was a procedure for flushing the entire system. I'd also like to add a filter if there isn't one integral to the reservoir. Gootta be cheaper than a rack or pump.
